Design
Goals:
- Create a more spacious, quality master bath
- Owner did not like the boxy feel of the existing master bath & desired a
softer feel
- Owner requested more natural light
- Owner wanted to maintain the same qualities as the rest of the home and
utilize high quality materials
- Owner desired to incorporate a steam shower into the master bathroom, as
well as 2 lavatories & a separate toilet area
Design Goals Accomplished:
- The new master bathroom was designed with various 45-degree clips and
wall angles to counter the boxy feel of the existing space, thereby creating
a comfortable and seamless flow
- The new master bathroom was designed to allow for 2 entry points to the
bedroom, thus increasing accessibility – one off the existing main hallway,
and one off the new master bedroom
- A vinyl-framed glass block window was utilized to provide optimum light
into the new bathroom
- Higher-end materials like marble slab countertops, hardwood floors, and
cherry cabinetry, wood clad windows and doors, were selected to complement
the fine appointments in the rest of the home
- Custom features, like: a steam shower with ample bench seating out of
marble slab; dual, adjustable shower heads; a frameless, 3/8” thick shower
enclosure; a separate toilet area; mirrored cabinet doors & framed mirrors;
two toe kick heaters; & custom marble shower inlays; all serve to round out
the beautiful new master bathroom
